Aquatic Therapy and Weight-Bearing Exercise is another treatment option for Crest Physical Therapy patients due to the near gravity free benefits of the Atlantic Club pools. Benefits of Aquatic Therapy: physical stress is reduced, flexibility and motor function is increased, relaxation is enhanced and recovery is more timely and complete.

The natural buoyancy reduces the gravitational pull and lessens compressive forces making exercises much easier to perform than on land. The reduction of gravitational forces in the pool allows the patient to stand and begin gait training and strengthening exercises without causing further damage to healing structures. The warm water and buoyancy results in decreasing pain sensitivity. Aquatic therapy can be used even if a patient does not know how to swim.
